You Were Meant To __________

Fill in the blank with whatever you dreamt of as a child. Fill in the blank with whatever you want most in your life. There are scores of people in our lives who, it would seem, are placed there to just stand in our way. Some of them feel compelled to go a few steps further. They don't just stand in our way; they work diligently to shove us backward down the path away from our dreams.

Sometimes, there are a few who actually believe they are helping. That's a frightening vision: that someone trying to help us might actually be standing in the way. Some folks believe with all their might that they know what's best for us and actually think that WE are needing to be shepherded. And some folks are blatantly out to stand in our way.

You have to dig down deep to find your spirit. Sometimes, you have to find your own voice, your own strength. People are going to try to stop you, stand in your way, rob you of your dreams. In our darkest hour, we have only ourselves to hold on to. Those that surround us, they can only be present for that struggle. The battle is internal and fought alone.

If you fill your mind with strength and empowerment... If you silence doubt by blasting it with positivity... If you drown out the babbling heads that tell you that you can't/won't/shouldn't... you will find the strength and the courage to succeed. Music, for me, is that positivity.

Music can lift me up and give me strength. The songs have to be the sort of inspiring that makes you feel that intense feeling of pursuit... desire... passion... to fly... to soar... to lift off fighting gravity, because it doesn't matter, you're facing upward and nothing is going to stop you or hold you down.

The way I fill in the blank for my life goes a little something like this:
I was meant to survive, thrive and live forever the way my souls yearns to grow and flow and the way my dreams carry me through the darkness of night into the light of the new day, every day, forever and ever, Amen.

Peace
